In den letzten paar Wochen musste ich feststellen das diverse male am Tage sich Benutzer registriert hatten die vermutlich diese nutzen wollen um die Kommentare vollzuspammen. Relativ sinnfrei da auch diese zuerst bei mir in die Moderation laufen.

Dennoch bleiben mir an dieser Stelle immer die netten Nutzernamen wie z.B. “kjhdfkgh423” in der Benutzertabelle erhalten.

Abhilfe mit Register Plus!

Register Plus ist ein WordPress Plugin welches neben einer Captcha Authentifizierung der getätigten Eingaben eine Vielzahl andere Optionen bietet…

• Customized Admin & User Registration Email Tired of the same old emails when someone new registers? Spice it up with your own From/Reply-To address, customized subject and customize the entire message! You can even disable those tiresome Admin notifications for new registrations.

Fazit

Besonders das Feature welches eine Validierung der Registierung durch das anklicken eines Links in der Registrierungsemail angeht ist hier für mich wichtig gewesen.

Wird dieser nicht angeklickt kann nach einer einstellbaren “Gracetime” die Registrierung automatisch wieder von Register Plus entfernt werden. Zusätzliche Sicherheit bietet ebenfalls das reCaptcha (Meiner Meinung nach einer der wenigen Captchas die man auch entziffern kann). Zur Nutzung von reCaptcha ist allerdings eine kostenfreie Registrierung nötig um an einen Public und Private API Key zu erhalten. Ist aber in der Summe von 2 Minuten erledigt.

Ich hoffe das der Registerspam damit erstmal ein Ende hat
